Carousel Horse

Description

This is a large panel (29.5″ x 22″) comprised of almost 500 pieces of glass. The horse mane is of black/white/gray Spectrum baroque glass that is no longer made. The jewels in the reins and bridle are faceted German crystal that have been handset between small pieces of Bullseye brown to evoke the look of old leather. The eye is of kiln fused glass using Spectrum amber and black for a realistic look. It is in a black zinc frame that has been set into a handmade 2-tone mahogany frame hung with goldtone ladder chain. This panel took over a year and a half to complete. I refer to it as my “pandemic project”.
